4034. Scrat Ice Age 4 MCdonalds Happy Meal June 2012

Scrat (also known as The Scrat and Squeak Attack) is an acorn-obsessed saber-toothed squirrel, one of the main characters in the Ice Age film series, and the main protagonist in the shorts, Gone Nutty, No Time For Nuts and Scrat's Continental Crack-up. Scrat is commonly shown in scenes as a comic relief character, involving the gang, but never interacts with them, directly with a few exceptions. He appears in all four films, as well as his own short films, "Gone Nutty", "No Time For Nuts" and "Scrat's Continental Crack-up" and has also made a cameo appearance in Sid's short, "Surviving Sid". He usually has his own stories in the film, independent of the main plot, which are parallel with the journeys of the other main characters simply by chance, making the other characters meet him occasionally. Although not fully part of the gang, Scrat has proven to be enormously successful and has become a breakthrough character of the series. Scrat is a crossover of a squirrel and a rat (hence the name Sc-rat), is small and has brownish fur. He has a pointed jaw like a rat and a body similar to a squirrel. Scrat also has small saber-teeth similar to a saber-tooth tiger and a large football shaped bushy tail about as big as his body. Scrat is always seen chasing his acorn. Once succeeded, he usually hugs it, buries it or pretends to eat it. This doesn't last for long as he always loses it. Scrat is usually a glutton for punishment, having to risk his life to get his nut back. He was struck by lightning, chased by avalanches, got into fights with piranhas and Sid (In the first film after the dodo bird fight). Scrat is also nutty when it comes to his acorn. As mentioned by Karen Disher (voice of Scratte) in Ice Age commentary, for Scrat, his acorn always, always, always comes first. In a special feature in the second film's DVD, his name has been stated to be a mix of the words "squirrel" and "rat", his species allegedly believed to have been a common ancestor of both. In the Ice Age DVD commentary, he is referred to as "The Scrat" by Directors Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha.

4025. Shira

Shira is a female smilodon who appears in Ice Age: Continental Drift. She is introduced as one of Captain Gutt's helpers and becomes Diego's love interest afterwards. She is voiced by Jennifer Lopez. She has light grey fur with dark grey stripes and pretty sapphire colored eyes. Her canines are shorter and slightly blunter than Diego's sabers. Shira wears two earrings on her right ear, the big one blue, and the small one green. In Scrat's Continental Crack-up Part 2 After Captain Gutt pulls up Scrat from the fishing hook, Shira is seen on Gutt's right (at the angle his left) starring back at Scrat and Gutt. Later she is seen watching and laughing while Squint is throwing star fish at Scrat. In Ice Age: Continental Drift Lightning fast on her feet and equally quick-witted, this beautiful saber tooth pirate has become Gutt’s loyal first mate. After Diego and Manny capsize Gutt’s ship, Shira gets separated from the pirates and is shocked to discover that Gutt has no real loyalty to her. When Diego appeals to her join his motley crew, she has to make the decision to stick with Gutt or to join Diego, Manny and the herd. Shira's fur color is different than other sabers that appear in the Ice Age movies, as she is the only one to have gray fur. Due to this and the black stripes she has on her fur, her design was most likely inspired from a tiger and a snow leopard.

4020-4023. Hyrax

Hyrax is any species of fairly small, thickset, herbivorous mammals. A hyrax (from Greek ὕραξ "shrewmouse") is any species of fairly small, thickset, herbivorous mammals in the order Hyracoidea. The rock hyrax Procavia capensis, the yellow-spotted rock hyrax Heterohyrax brucei, the western tree hyrax Dendrohyrax dorsalis, and the southern tree hyrax, Dendrohyrax arboreus live in Africa and the Middle East. Hyraxes are well-furred, rotund creatures with short tails. Most measure between 30 and 70 cm long and weigh between 2 and 5 kg. All modern hyraxes are members of the family Procaviidae (the only living family within the Hyracoidea) and are found only in Africa and the Middle East. In the past, however, hyraxes were more diverse, and widespread. The order first appears in the fossil record at a site in the Middle East in the form of Dimaitherium, 37 million years ago. For many millions of years, hyraxes were the primary terrestrial herbivore in Africa, just as odd-toed ungulates were in the Americas. Through the middle to late Eocene, there were many different species, the largest of them about the weight of a small horse, the smallest the size of a mouse. During the Miocene, however, competition from the newly developed bovids—very efficient grazers and browsers—pushed the hyraxes out of the prime territory and into marginal niches. Nevertheless, the order remained widespread, diverse and successful as late as the end of the Pliocene (about two million years ago) with representatives throughout most of Africa, Europe and Asia. The descendants of the giant hyracoids evolved in different ways. Some became smaller, and gave rise to the modern hyrax family. Others appear to have taken to the water (perhaps like the modern capybara), and ultimately gave rise to the elephant family, and perhaps also the sirenians (dugongs and manatees). DNA evidence supports this hypothesis, and the small modern hyraxes share numerous features with elephants, such as toenails, excellent hearing, sensitive pads on their feet, small tusks, good memory, high brain functions compared to other similar mammals, and the shape of some of their bones. Hyraxes are sometimes described as being the closest living relative to the elephant. Although relatively closely related, not all scientists support the proposal that hyraxes are the "closest" living relative of the elephant. Recent morphological and molecular-based classifications reveal the sirenians to be the closest living relatives of elephants, while hyraxes are closely related, but form an outgroup to the assemblage of elephants, sirenians, and extinct orders such as Embrithopoda and Desmostylia. The extinct meridiungulate family Archaeohyracidae, consisting of four genera of notoungulate mammals known from the Paleocene through the Oligocene of South America is a group unrelated to the true hyraxes.

4019. Rasmussen a.k.a. Raz

Rebel Wilson as Raz, an Australian prehistoric kangaroo (Procoptodon) that is part of Gutt's crew. Raz is a character in Ice Age: Continental Drift. She is part of Captain Gutt's crew. This tough, prehistoric Aussie Sheila kangaroo, is the crew's resident weapons expert, hiding an arsenal of deadly bone swords in her pouch. Don't mess with her… She's just looking for a reason to party, and by party she means fight till you drop. A bullish Procoptodon, Raz sported the traits unique to her kind: short face, long tail, grasping forearms, a pouch and long legs which sported one hoof-like toe each. Raz's long ears drooped down behind her head and her pelt was striped grey and violet with a whitish underbelly. Raz made use of her pouch, in which she kept weapons to throw in a fight, from dried starfish to sea anemones; along with this, Raz used a sawfish skull as a sword in fights. Raz is the smart one of Gutt's crew and has a special disliking for Sid. She is one of the most angry pirates when Shira helps the others to escape. Ice Age: Continental Drift (also known as Ice Age 4: Continental Drift or simply as Ice Age 4) is a 2012 American 3-D computer-animated adventure/comedy film directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier, starring the voices of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Keke Palmer, Chris Wedge, Peter Dinklage, Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Drake and Nicki Minaj. It is the fourth installment of the Ice Age series, being produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox, and the first sequel not to be directed by Carlos Saldanha.[2] It will be the second Ice Age installment that will utilise Digital 3D. It is scheduled to be released in the US on July 13, 2012, three to six years after its predecessors The Meltdown and Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and ten years after the release of the original Ice Age. This will be the first Ice Age film to be shot in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio.

4016. Captain Gutt

Captain Gutt was a Gigantopithecus that took to being a self-styled master and captain of the high seas, taking whatever food he could find by theft and hoarding it with the help of his crew. Gutt took to the seas on a massive ice floe that resembled a galleon made of ice and plant matter. Out at sea, Gutt encountered a number of animals, all stranded, and took it upon himself to rescue them so as to make them his crew, after which they took to a piratical lifestyle and raided ice floes with other creatures, notably one ridden by Manny, Sid, Diego and Sid's Grandmother, launching massive chunks of ice at it in an attack. At some point, Gutt and his crew captured Scrat, who was lost at sea and had found a map of sorts, etched onto an acorn shell: Gutt and his crew forced the Saber-tooth squirrel to board their ship as a captive. As a hostile ape character, Gutt showed a short temper when provoked, as well as the capability of grim humor at the expense of others. To newly-caught animals, Gutt put on an oily, patronizing persona to entice them to join his crew. As a Gigantopithecus, Gutt was a large, sinewy primate, that, despite his bulk, was capable of fast movements, such as the ability to climb virtually any surface, if the need arose. Gutt often made use of all four of his limbs, for his legs had hands rather than feet, and could stand on his arms to gesture with his legs and hand-feet. Gutt sported a scalp of black hair which resembled a tricorne hat and a greying beard on his face, which was topped with a mouth mouth full of yellow and yellowing teeth. Along with this, Gutt's back fur tapered over his frame at the back, resembling a pirate captain's coat. When the need arose, Gutt could engage others in battle, using a sawfish skull to fight as one might use a sword. Jeremy Renner was originally picked to voice Captain Gutt, but was later unavailable to voice the ape; it was later decided that Peter Dinklage would fill the role and voice the villain.

4015. Squint

Squint is a paleolagus who is part of Gutt's crew in Ice Age: Continental Drift. Squint packs an amazing amount of crazy into his diminutive, prehistoric rabbit frame. If he were more than three feet tall and his adorable bunny ears didn’t always seem to pop up when agitated, he might genuinely be terrifying. His two great passions are his bone knife and unprovoked acts of violence. Squint is definitely the bad boy of the swashbuckling crew, with a thirst for violence that borders on insanity (most likely the reason captain Gutt decided to let the tiny, prehistoric rabbit on his crew). This paleolagus is anything but classy, always letting out some rude or rancid comment, or making some embarrasing gesture (which seems to get on his shipmates nerves, at times). And like any rabbit, this little energizer bunny has enough energy to keep an animal 10 times his weight going for days. But most importantly, as any crew member knows, never call Squint cute or cuddly 'cause once he raises his ears in aggitation you have 5 seconds to run before you bunny chow.

4014. Manny the mammoth

Manfred (aka Manny) is one of the main protagonists of the Ice Age franchise. He is a male bull woolly mammoth who is the husband (former boyfriend) of Ellie and the father of Peaches. He is voiced by Ray Romano. Manny is a short-tempered and furry mammoth. While his true name is Manfred, many other characters throughout the Ice Age movies simply call him "Manny." A custom begun by Sid, who aptly nick-named him "Manny the Moody Mammoth". During the scene involving the cave paintings, in the first Ice Age movie, we learn that Manny's first mate and son were hunted and killed by a clan of Cro-Magnons. It's apparent that this is the reason Manny dislikes socializing with other animals — he's afraid, because, if he ever allowed himself to care for someone again, the chance of him losing them would always be there. This has also led Manny to despise creatures that kill for reasons other than food or survival. Manny has a firm belief that an animal should only have a relationship with one other animal for as long as they're alive together. "If you find a mate in life, you should be loyal". Since his partner was killed, it's likely that he believes that he should never have another partner (i.e. stay loyal). This led to great inward conflict for him because of his feelings for Ellie in Ice Age 2, with his friends advising him to move on with his life. As the world shifts around him, so does Manny’s family. Peaches is no longer a baby, but a quirky teenager just as off-beat as her mother Ellie and opinionated as Manny. Manny’s tendency to be overprotective spurs a terrible argument between father and daughter - just before the world splits apart, casting him out to sea and separating him from his family and herd. Now he vows to do everything he can to get back to his family and make amends with his daughter. And despite every obstacle thrown at him in this colossal adventure, Manny is still our powerful hero from IA3, and quite up to the task.

4012-4013. Sid the Sloth and Red Fish

Sid (Full-name, Sidney) is a ground sloth who appears in all Ice Age movies. He is voiced by John Leguizamo. Little is known from Sid's life other than that Sid once lived in a tree with other sloths that always wanted to leave Sid behind when the migration occurred, using several different ways to leave him behind. What is clear is that Sid's mother always told him that "bad news is just good news in disguise" prior to abandoning him for good. In an infamous cut scene, a crazy female sloth called Sylvia wanted to be the mate of Sid and often chased him around, although Sid was obviously freaked out by her approach and her dreams of her having a relationship with him, he was not interested in her and more then often tried to think of diversions to get rid of her. Even though, she did care and was loyal to him, he did not return the affections and he finally got rid of her, by pretending to be hunted by Diego, leaving Sylvia to realize that he did not like her at all and was greatly offended by his scam that she told Diego to eat and finally leaving him alone, when Diego wouldn't let go of Sid, he calls for Sylvia. It is not known whether or not that Sid did care for Sylvia or not as their relationship was thrown aside, for the main story to develop in construction. Sid is an accident-prone ground sloth, who stands and walks like a human with ping-pong ball-like eyes (one is bigger then the other), a button nose, buck teeth, and whitish yellow fur. Sid has long claws on his hands and feet and a curled tail. Sid is portrayed as unfit and naive. However, he is also talkative, positive, caring, and loyal towards his friends. Though childish and goofy at times, Sid shows keen insight into the lives of his friends and interests of the herd, such as seemingly being the only one aware of Diego's fear of water and Manny's growing crush on Ellie, in the second film. Sid also suffers from a lateral lisp, which makes his "S" and "C" pronunciation rather "wet" or "spitty". Sid is usually the one getting knocked about, either by accident or on purpose. He is considered the only character with bad karma, but immediately learns his lesson soon afterwards.

3850. Squint

Aziz Ansari as Squint, a prehistoric rabbit (Palaeolagus) and part of Gutt's crew. Scrat's hunt for acorns triggers the break-up of the Pangaea continent into the continents as we know them today. In the meantime, Manny and his wife Ellie deal with their teen-age daughter Peaches who has a crush on Ethan. The breakup of the continent separates Manny from his family. Manny gets stuck on a floating ice raft together with Sid, Diego, and Sid's grandmother Granny. A large moving landmass drives Ellie, Peaches, and a herd of other animals towards a land bridge, where they hope to reunite with Manny. Manny and his friends are captured by a pirate gang led by a giant ape named Gutt, who are sailing the oceans on a large ship-shaped iceberg. They manage to escape, in the process destroying the pirate ship, and again float on the oceans on a small ice raft. They rescue the female pirate saber-toothed cat Shira, who reluctantly joins the group. After the group reaches an island, Shira escapes and rejoins the pirates, who are building a new ice ship elsewhere on the same island. The protagonists overtake the new ice ship and sail away, with the help of a large number of hyraxs, and Shira, who changed her mind after being threatened by Gutt. Gutt quickly turns a new iceberg into a ship, propelled by sharks, and chases Manny's gang. Along the way, the protagonists encounter sirens, depicted as sharp-toothed creatures who take the shape of loved ones and attempt to lure the sailors. Fortunately, Manny realizes this and manages to steer the ship away from the sirens. Gutt and his pirate gang catch up with the protagonists, and are about to capture them. However, Granny's presumed imaginary pet Pookie turns out to be a large sperm whale, who defeats the pirates. Gutt and Manny fight, and Gutt is defeated, and is devoured by a siren. Manny arrives just in time to pick up Ellie and Peaches, who are caught between the moving landmass and the ocean at the location where the land bridge once existed. After sailing over the ocean, they find land where they start a new life. The film ends with a scene where Scrat discovers Atlantis, a floating city filled with other sabre-toothed squirrels and oaknuts. However, Scrat, due to his nut obsession, proves to be the uncivilized of the sabre-toothed squirrels by managing to sink the city to the bottom of the ocean, leaving Scrat in the middle of a newly-created island: the desert.
